Additionally, the City of Calgary Responsible Pet Ownership Bylaw prohibits dogs on school property, including playgrounds and fields.

Lost & Found Reminder

Please take a moment to check the Lost & Found items shown in the photos below.  All unclaimed items must be picked up by Wednesday, January 14 at 3:30 p.m.  Any items remaining after this time will be donated.

Thank you for your help in keeping our school organized!

Gymnastics at HVS

From January 12 to January 29, students in Kindergarten to Grade 4 will be taking part in our gymnastics unit—a great time to build strength, confidence, and coordination!

To help students feel comfortable and ready to move, we ask that they dress for success during this time. Please take a look at the visual below for guidance on how your child should ideally be dressed at school while participating in gymnastics.

Thank you for your support in helping our students have a safe, active, and fun gymnastics experience!

Career Day – January 21

Students are invited to dress as what they would like to be when they grow up. This is a fun way to encourage dreaming big and talking about future goals.

As always, participation is completely optional, and students are welcome to join in whatever way feels comfortable for them. The goal is to have fun, build community, and celebrate what makes each of us unique.

Get ready for some big dreams, bold outfits, and maybe a few surprise career choices!

K – 4 Open House – January 22 | 4:00–5:30 pm

We’re excited to welcome families to our Open House on Wednesday, January 22, from 4:00–5:30 pm! This is a relaxed, come-and-go opportunity for families with a student at our school to step inside, explore the building, and celebrate student learning.

Families are invited to visit their child’s classroom, check out the music room and gym, and see the school in action. We encourage families to stop by for 20–30 minutes to tour, visit, and enjoy learning displays—whatever fits best with your schedule.

Please note that this is a drop-in event with no formal meetings scheduled, allowing everyone to explore at their own pace. We look forward to welcoming you and celebrating the wonderful learning happening in our school!
